In Erie, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Pennsylvania vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Westlake Auto at (814) 836-7000; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 131 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Erie and suggests consistent service.
Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Erie is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I went in for a routine inspection and they found two extra things. One that was very dangerous. The car drives a lot better now that one wheel isn't slowly falling off. Great and honest people doing solid work.

Amateurs. I took my car in for a check engine light that was coming up with a code that there was an EVAP issue. The car was running rough and when I filled the tank it had a hard time starting. They said it was not an issue, It would still pass the emissions inspections and they usually don't do anything about it. I drove the car home and the problem got worse to a point that the vehicle completely shut down and would not start. I was lucky I was a block away from my house and not the middle of 12th street during the work hour drive home. So I had to pay for a tow, a rental and another repair shop who fixed it the next day. To be fair, they did not charge me to look at it. They also told me they would not take my extended warranty because they have to call the warranty company to get approval and "it would take too long". I called the warranty company myself the next day and got a claims adjuster within two minutes. In my 44 years of car ownership, this had to be the worse experience of any repair shop.

I dropped my Model 3 off for tire service and completely forgot to mention that I needed to wait for the car. Even though it was a Friday, tires were done in <1h.

I have taken my tesla model s for a tire rotation, keep in mind my alignment was perfectly fine. I picked up my car after the tire rotation and it is pulling heavily to the right, so i decided to take the car back to get an alignment. They barely fixed issue and the car is still pulling to the right. I took it back again so they can βdo a better jobβ but the car still had the exact same issue. I decided to take my car up to buffalo and get my alignment from the tesla service center and it came out to be perfect. Never working with westlake again.

Iβve been to many auto repair shops over the years, and Westlake Auto is by far the most honest and trustworthy Iβve ever worked with. They consistently get me in quickly and provide clear, straightforward quotes for the work that actually needs to be done - no upselling, no pressure, just honesty. We have both an electric vehicle and a gas vehicle, and Westlake is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled with both, which is hard to find. The staff are always respectful, professional, and take the time to explain things in a way that makes sense. Another huge plus is convenience, every time Iβve brought my car in, theyβve been able to complete the work same day, which is incredibly helpful with a busy schedule. I truly cannot recommend Westlake Auto enough. If youβre looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and honest repair shop, this is it.
